Privacy policy

The short version

The Care Record is a reading site, and you can use all of it without telling us who you are. We count visits with Google Analytics, with Google's advertising features switched off. We do not collect health information, we do not sell or share personal information, and the site carries no ads.

Who we are

The Care Record (thecarerecord.com) is published by Revlent LLC, 44679 Endicott Dr, Ste 300-3001, Ashburn, VA 20147. For any privacy question or request, use the contact form or write to hello@thecarerecord.com. This policy took effect on November 2, 2026.

No health information

We do not ask for, collect or store health information about you or the person you care for. No page asks for a diagnosis, a Medicaid or Medicare number, a Social Security number or medical records. Please leave health details out of any message to us. If you send them anyway, we use them only to answer you.

What we collect

When you read the site. Like every web server, ours records technical details of each request: the page asked for, the time, your IP address and your browser type. We use these logs to keep the site running and to block abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

When you use the contact form. The form asks for your name, your email address and your message, so we can answer you. The message is emailed to our team and kept with our correspondence. Contact messages, and the copy kept with the delivery job, are kept until you ask us to delete them. We do not add your address to any list.

Accounts. You do not need an account to read anything here, and the site does not offer reader accounts. Only our own staff sign in, to edit the site. They sign in with a code we email them or with a passkey, and there are no passwords.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 to count visits and see which pages help people. The site shows no consent banner. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics storage is denied: no analytics cookies are set, and Google receives only cookieless measurement pings. Everywhere else, Google Analytics sets cookies by default to tell visits apart. Ad storage is off.

The list behind that rule covers 32 countries: the 27 members of the European Union, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Analytics loads when you first scroll, tap or press a key, or 5 seconds after the page loads.

Google's advertising features are off for every visitor, wherever you are. Consent Mode denies ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization for everyone. Google signals is switched off for our Analytics property, and the property is not linked to Google Ads. Google keeps event-level data from our property for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months, then deletes it.

To stop Google Analytics on every site you visit, block it in your browser or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We set three cookies of our own: a session cookie that keeps a signed-in person signed in (only our staff sign in), a CSRF cookie that protects forms from forgery, and a short-lived messages cookie that carries a one-time notice, such as a confirmation that your message was sent, to the next page you open. We set no advertising cookies.

Services we use

The site runs on Amazon Web Services. Amazon CloudFront delivers our pages, and our server and database run in AWS's US East (Northern Virginia) region. Google provides analytics, as described above. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form was sent by a person rather than a bot; when it runs, Cloudflare receives your IP address and details about your browser. Email we send, such as our replies to you, is delivered by Resend, an email delivery service.

Our fonts come from our own server, so reading a page does not contact a font service. No other outside service runs in your browser on this site, and our content security policy blocks scripts from anywhere else.

Email

We email you only to answer a message you sent us. We do not add your address to any list, and we send no newsletters or alerts.

Your privacy rights

You have rights over your personal information, and we honor them for everyone, wherever you live:

  • Know and access. Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
  • Correct. Ask us to fix information that is wrong.
  • Delete. Ask us to delete your information.
  • Opt out of sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising, so this is already true for you, with no request needed.
  • No penalty. Using any of these rights never changes how the site works for you.

To use any of these rights, use the contact form or write to hello@thecarerecord.com. We may ask you to confirm a detail so we know the request comes from you. If we turn a request down, we tell you why, and you can reply to ask us to look at it again.

Do not sell or share my personal information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or lead buyers, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. That is why there is no opt-out form to fill in: there is nothing to opt out of. If that ever changes, this page will change first and will carry a clear opt-out link.

Global Privacy Control

We honor Global Privacy Control, a browser setting that tells sites not to sell or share your personal information. The site does not need to read the signal to obey it: we sell and share nothing for any visitor, and Google's advertising features are off for everyone. Do Not Track is an older browser signal. The site does not change what it does when it receives one, so the analytics described above still runs.

Children

The site is written for adults who care for a family member. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security and how long we keep data

Connections to the site are encrypted, and staff accounts must use two-step verification. We keep data only as long as we need it for the reasons on this page. When we delete data, the copies in our nightly database backups are deleted within 75 days.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or which services we use, we update this page before the change goes live and change the effective date above.
